On Saturday 22 August 2026, there will be dancing in Küchwaldpark ( at the Küchwaldpavillon, Küchwaldring 18, 09113 Chemnitz) from 4.00 pm to 8.00 pm. The ‘Tanzpavillon’ event brings dancing out of indoor venues and into the open air, and invites you to fill the public space with movement and music.

What to expect:

  • A free dance class with professional dance instructors from the ADTV Tanzstudio Chemnitz: simple standard dances such as the waltz or cha-cha-cha, ideal for beginners too!
  • Three hours of dance music with a DJ to keep the atmosphere lively.
  • Refreshing drinks

All dance enthusiasts, whatever their age, are welcome! The event is organised by the Bürgerplattform Chemnitz Mitte-Wes in collaboration with Community Centre at Leipziger Strasse and Tanzstudio Chemnitz GbR.

The broad urban and regional society is called upon to create forms of communication and social interaction. The funding programme has existed for several years and is part of the main programme of the European Capital of Culture Chemnitz 2025.
