Anyone who brings along an old deck can breathe new life into it through upcycling. Alternatively, a blank deck available on site offers the chance to create your own design on an unused surface and take the result home with you as a unique piece of art.

Various techniques are available for your creative project:

  • Spray painting using stencils
  • Drawing and painting with acrylic markers and acrylic paints
  • Upcycling, where old boards are transformed into pieces of jewellery
  • Plotter technology for custom griptape cut-outs
  • Screen printing with various designs on textiles or decks
  • CNC milling and laser cutting for personalised engravings on the deck

“Skate of the Art” is aimed at people of all ages who enjoy creative and craft-based activities or would like to learn new techniques.

Important notes:

No textiles are provided for screen printing or embroidery. Please bring your own T-shirts, caps or other suitable textiles for these activities.

If you wish to design a blank skateboard deck, please register in advance by emailing longboard.chemnitz(at)gmail.com so that sufficient decks can be provided.
