Microproject | Garage concert on Ahornstraße

The Garage Concert will be in its fourth year in 2026. Since 2023, bands have been playing right in the garage courtyard on Ahornstraße. On 5 September, Electric Elk will be performing a mix of rock, beat and oldies. Admission is free.

The garage concert at the Ahorngarage will be entering its fourth year in 2026. Since 2023, the courtyard at Ahornstraße 29 in Chemnitz has been transformed into a concert venue once a year.

On 5 September 2026, Electric Elk will be performing there. The band’s repertoire ranges from beat songs and punk classics to rock ’n’ roll and Schlager. Guitars, piano, bass, saxophone, drums and vocals ensure a varied live sound.

In 2025, the Ahorngarage was part of the #3000Garagen Capital of Culture project. The garage concert will continue in 2026 as a legacy project, once again bringing live music straight to the car park.

Doors open at 6.30 pm. The concert starts at 7.00 pm.

Microprojects

The micro-projects are intended to provide impetus for new cultural formats or encounters in Chemnitz and the Capital of Culture Region. The broad urban and regional society is called upon to create forms of communication and social interaction. The funding programme has existed for several years and is part of the main programme of the European Capital of Culture Chemnitz 2025.
