The Buntspeicher Zwönitz invites all interested parties to a day full of discoveries and creativity. From 13:00 to 20:00, the historic building will be transformed into a lively place of encounter and inspiration. After more than five years of renovation and remodelling work, the city is able to present the entire building for the first time and invites visitors to explore the "Speicher".

Visitors can look forward to these highlights on this day:

• Guided discovery tours: the fascinating history and architecture of the Buntspeicher can be discovered in half-hour guided tours, which are offered from 13:00 to 19:00. These provide a comprehensive insight into the building and its past. Due to the high level of interest, pre-booking is recommended.
• "Purple Path" opening: A special highlight is the official opening of the PURPLE PATH art and sculpture trail in the entire Capital of Culture region, as one of the main projects within the framework of Chemnitz 2025. In the Buntspeicher, the 4 PURPLE PATH artworks of the Greifenstein region can be experienced in an impressive digital environment, both visually and acoustically. In addition, the COLOR FLOATING artwork will shine in fresh colours in the Zwönitzer Austelpark, just a few minutes' walk from the Buntspeicher.
• Creativity in the Makerspace: The Makerspace, the Buntspeicher's hands-on workshop, invites visitors to try things out for themselves with exciting hands-on activities. Here you can give free rein to your creativity and take a look at the equipment and possibilities of the Makerspace.
• Exhibitions and talks: In the entrance area, a variety of exhibitions await you, inviting you to linger and marvel. At 15:00, there will be a lecture that takes a closer look at the eventful history and extensive renovation of the Buntspeicher.
• Exploring on your own and ERZmobil: In addition to exploring the Buntspeicher on your own, which will be open from 13:00 to 20:00, the ERZmobil will enrich this special day and can be booked. Further information about the ERZmobil will be available at the Buntspeicher on this day.
• Culinary delights: Culinary delights will be provided throughout the day. Whether delicious drinks, cakes, fish or fresh food from the grill - there is something for every taste.
