The Dancing Neighbours are a unique dance project that aims to connect generations. Here, some older dancers perform at the Brunnenfest organised by Chemnitzer Allgemeine Wohnungsbaugesellschaft eG and show what they can do.

The Dancing Neighbours are a project of the Teams Generation of the Capital of Culture gGmbH in cooperation with the Japanese choreographer Yoko Ando. The 60+ dancers have been training since May 2024 and performed together with young female dancers at the opening ceremony of the Capital of Culture year on 18 January 2025.

The focus of the ‘Tanzende Nachbarn’ movement workshops is on joint movement and networking between neighbourhoods.As part of the European Capital of Culture Chemnitz 2025, Team Generation is entrusted with the participation of children, young people, young adults and older people and is developing a programme that takes up and combines their perspectives.
