A new small orchard is being created very close to Lichtenwalde Castle and Park. A further 11 apple trees are being added to the existing apple tree neighbourhood in the castle park, where apple trees were planted in spring 2025 in a historic setting.
 

At the final planting festival of Gelebte Nachbarschaft, hundreds of apple trees will be planted together in Chemnitz and the Capital of Culture Region from 19 to 26 October 2025.
