An apple tree is moving into the school grounds of Niederwiesa secondary and primary school. And the best thing is that the younger and older pupils are doing everything themselves! They plant together, take care of it properly and enjoy watching it grow and flourish over several generations until the apple harvest is plentiful.

At the final planting festival of Gelebte Nachbarschaft, hundreds of apple trees will be planted together in Chemnitz and the Capital of Culture Region from 19 to 26 October 2025.
