"Christmas Eve is off to a good start," says Mrs Bamperl, after she has already had to pull the milk boy's ears because he brought the milk too late again, she had to realise that they still don't have a Christmas tree just before Christmas Eve, she has given away her furniture because she is supposed to have inherited a kitchen set, the children are almost freezing to death outside because they are only allowed in when the tree is up, the milk boy's mum wants to report her, the caretaker brings the inheritance, which is not at all what she wanted, the man can't get into his house because there is a snowman on his doorstep and he has also brought a Christmas tree without a board. The chaos seems perfect, but that was just the beginning... See why the Bamperl family has to spend Christmas Eve in a pub at the Fritz Theatre.
