The internationally renowned sculptor and installation artist Monika Sosnowska (born 1972 in Poland) presents her sculpture group Ghosts in Callenberg. The three sculptures made of black steel are installed towering high in a pond in Callenberg. They bear shimmering "roofs" made of textile fabrics that glow at night and are reflected in the water.

Monika Sosnowska studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Posen/Posznan (Poland) and the Rijksakademie van Beeldende Kunst in Amsterdam (NL). Sosnowska represented Poland at the 52nd Venice Biennale in 2007.

Together with Chemnitz, 38 municipalities and communities form the Capital of Culture region, which will be the European Capital of Culture in 2025. The PURPLE PATH, a large art and sculpture trail and the main project of the European Capital of Culture, will be created in the region by 2025 and beyond.
