Chemnitz is notorious as the "grey mouse" among Saxony's major cities. This city tour through the city centre aims to change this image and bring out some of the city's gems. Chemnitz has always been a working-class city centre and this has shaped the architecture as well as the art and literature in the city. Chemnitz is home to a medieval robber baron's castle with a wealth of legends as well as one of the largest collections of 20th century art. In addition to some architectural features, the tour also includes stories about the proletarian and prominent residents of Chemnitz.
After the city tour, there will be dinner in the Open Space from 18:00 - 19:00 and the cultural parade "Nachtgestöber" with film, music and readings will take place from 19:00 - 21:00 .
