Spring is welcomed with an arts and crafts market, creative activities, pony rides, live music and museum tours. Not far from the women's market, the artwork "Coin Stack2" by Sean Scully can be discovered. St Wolfgang's Church with its famous altar by Lucas Cranach is also open.
The PURPLE PATH art and sculpture trail presents permanent contemporary sculptures in public spaces and tells stories from Chemnitz and 38 communities in the region. Works by more than 60 artists are on display.
This project is cofinanced by tax funds on the basis of the parliamentary budget of the state of Saxony and by federal funds from the Beauftragter der Bundesregierung für Kultur und Medien (Federal Government Commissioner for Culture and Media), as well as funds from the City of Chemnitz.
