Saxony - in particular the region between Chemnitz and Zwickau - was once a centre of the European textile industry. The artist Ulrich Reimkasten, who grew up in Lichtenstein/Sa., learnt the basics of textile design here - an influence that runs through his entire work as a visual artist. Now, after 50 years, artists and large-scale textile works are returning to this place as part of the European Capital of Culture Chemnitz 2025. An expansive installation and a complementary cabinet exhibition invite visitors to discover his origins and life's work in a new way.
