A few weeks after the verdict was announced in the NSU trial in Munich, "The NSU Monologues" tell of the years-long struggles of three families of the victims of the NSU - Elif Kubaşık, Adile Şimşek and İsmail Yozgat. They bear witness to their courage to stand in the front row of a funeral march, to their strength of will to demand the renaming of a street and to their attempt to defend their own memory of their loved ones against the supposed truth of the authorities.
"The NSU Monologues" is documentary, verbatim theatre. Based on interviews, court transcripts, public speeches and materials, they provide intimate insights into the relatives' struggle for clarification. In a subsequent panel discussion, we will reflect together with the audience on how the fight for victims of right-wing violence can - and must - be maintained in the context of current political events.
