The Questions | Building of Spines

The multi-part project "The QUestions" creates intergenerational encounters through performance, dialogue and cultural exchange. In Building of Spines, an artist and an author create books from the stories of Chemnitz library visitors.

In Building of Spines, British artist Kate Daley and Chemnitz-based author Gabi Reinhardt create individualised books by hand in just a few days. To do this, the two talk to people in the Chemnitz libraries (district libraries in the Yorck and Vita centres and the city library). Books are created that portray library users. The finished books are then added to the libraries' collections.
