Performances for this day (both at the Eduard-von-Winterstein Theatre):

  • "The Clown and Europe" (from Freiberg) and
  • "EUdaimonía" (from Plauen-Zwickau)

Europe is heterogeneous and at the same time recognises itself as something common - shared in history and experience. Together with artists from Romania, Georgia, Russia, the USA and Germany, the four major city theatres of the Capital of Culture region approach this experiential space and interpret one and the same stage design differently. The four world premieres Der Clown und Europa (Freiberg), Versuch über meinen Großvater (Chemnitz), EUdaimonía (Plauen-Zwickau) and Call It Home (Annaberg-Buchholz) tell of clowns and laughter in Europe, of entanglements in German fascism, of home and migrant experiences in the Capital of Culture region. Inside Outside Europe celebrated its premiere in Chemnitz on 12 April 2025 and is now touring from city to city, accompanied by a supporting programme. The individual productions can also be experienced in the repertoires of the partner theatres.
