From the end of October, the façade of the former Hotel Scherber in Komotau will be adorned with a plaque commemorating one of its important guests. In 1897, the world-famous writer Karl May spent a few days in Komotov and visited the local junk exhibition, among other things.

Thanks to the cooperation of the town of Chomutov, the Chomutov Regional Museum and the partners of the international initiative Try Walking in May Shoes, this historic stay will be honoured with a new commemorative plaque created by sculptor Štěpán Bílek.

The accompanying programme will be provided by pupils from the literature and drama branch of the Klement Slavický Primary Art School in Kadaň. Our German friends from the association Silberbüchse and other organisations that cultivate Karl May's legacy will also be there.
