Early summer in the Striegistal returns at Whitsun for another special weekend full of art, music and encounters. The site will be transformed into a lively meeting place for creativity and community. Colours emerge on walls, beats echo through the floors and there is a special atmosphere everywhere: free, open and inspiring.

International urban art artists, regional creatives and curious guests meet here, exchange ideas and create something new together. Between installations, sculptures and street art, a world is created in which art is not only viewed, but also experienced.

UWE also stands for participation, experimentation and discovery. Workshops, maker offers and creative experiments invite you to get active yourself - with colour, print, fabric, painting, wood or electricity.

As the day slowly fades into the evening, music takes centre stage. DJs and live acts create the soundtrack for long days and even longer nights, from relaxed sounds to driving electronic beats.

Makerhubs

Nine Makerhubs in Chemnitz and the Capital of Culture Region will become places where people can learn from each other and create something new together. They are also places where designers, craftspeople, entrepreneurs, the next generation of skilled workers and makers from all over the world come together. Visitors and creative tourists can experience regional culture and traditions at workshops. The Makerhubs are part of the Makers, Business & Arts programme. This main project of the European Capital of Culture Chemnitz 2025 is all about promoting creative tourism offerings and cross-sector collaboration between industry and creative professionals. The project is being implemented by the Kulturhauptstadt Europas Chemnitz 2025 gGmbH in cooperation with the Landesverband der Kultur- und Kreativwirtschaft Sachsen e. V.
