André Deloar (*1975, Freiberg) studied graphic design at the Anhalt University of Applied Sciences, Bauhaus Dessau and Fine Arts at the Zurich University of the Arts. He has lived and worked in Zurich for several years. André Deloar's mostly large-format, painterly works contain architectural elements, everyday objects and allusions to nature. He reduces, superimposes, stacks and thus creates spaces. His works often take up serial themes, using purple and pink in particular to emphasise individual elements or surfaces in colour.

The exhibition "Shades of Purple Pink" picks up on this world of colour and presents a cross-section of André Deloar's work. The exhibition is being organised in cooperation with the Capital of Culture project HALLENKUNST 2025 and Galerie Borssenanger. André Deloar is represented by Galerie Borssenanger and has already exhibited here in 2017 in a solo exhibition and subsequently in several group exhibitions. André Deloar is currently part of the Hallenkunst 2025 Artist-in-Residence programme and worked on a series of canvases in 2024 and 2025. As part of the exhibition "Shades of Purple Pink", an insight into this series will be given and exhibited. André Deloar's entire series and the works of other artists-in-residence will be on display as part of the HALLENKUNST exhibition from 21 August to 21 September 2025 in the Chemnitz Markthalle.
