VOGELPERSPEKTIVEN - Open Studio with Sabine Hochmuth & Kati Hyyppä | barrier-free access for deaf people

Real and imaginary objects and landscapes made of felt and embroidery are created in hands-on workshops that can be attended once or regularly. They are sewn together to form a large carpet that shows a bird's eye view of Chemnitz and reflects the diversity of the city.

Sabine Hochmuth, also known as WollBine, is opening her garage to anyone who enjoys felting and embroidery. in 2025, she is working with Finnish artist Kati Hyyppä and participating Chemnitz residents on a textile made of wool and yarn that shows Chemnitz and the region from different bird's-eye views. The real and imaginary landscape elements will be created in participatory workshops and assembled into a large carpet that will be on display in the #3000Garagen exhibition from October.

The event will take place from 5.30 pm in cooperation with the Big Table, which will provide barrier-free access for deaf people.

The next workshops for interested people of all ages and backgrounds and for families with children will take place from 24 February to 1 March 2025.

No registration is required for the Open Studio, you can drop by during the specified period, get to know the project and participate directly.
