[The whole year]
CREATE.U is the youth programme for Chemnitz 2025 initiated by Team Generation, which enables young people to implement their own project ideas in Chemnitz and the Capital of Culture region: Be it independently organising a youth festival, setting up photo exhibitions, designing fashion or engaging in sporting activities together.

United Club Convention

Veranstaltungsreihe rund um Clubkultur

[February to November 2025]
in 2025, the United Club Convention brings European club culture to the city. Initiated by Club Atomino, concerts, parties, talks and workshops will be organised in the city. Clubs will become places of exchange, participation and cultural diversity.

Room 4 Culture

Veranstaltungsreihe zu Hip-Hop-Kultur

[February to November 2025]
Room 4 Culture has been living the spirit of hip-hop culture in Chemnitz for years. With workshops, battles and shows in unusual locations, the Room - Hip Hop Spot team shows how breaking and hip-hop can be combined as a creative and respectful culture.

KOSMOS Chemnitz

Festival für Kultur, Musik und Demokratie

[13-15 June]
KOSMOS Chemnitz is a large, free festival in Chemnitz city centre. KOSMOS was created in response to the right-wing demonstrations in August 2018. This year, tens of thousands of people will once again come to the city centre to celebrate and experience KOSMOS as a platform for democracy.

Park summer

Das Open-Air-Kulturfestival

[26 June to 27 July 2025]
The Park Summer transforms the Stadthallenpark into an open cultural space. Visitors can experience concerts, poetry slams, yoga and more on picnic blankets and deckchairs - all in the open air and in the centre of the city.

ibug

Festival für urbane Kunst

[22-24 August / 29-31 August / 5-7 September]
Ibug brings international urban art to abandoned industrial sites - this year for the 20th time. Over three weekends in August and September, artists and volunteers will transform an industrial wasteland in Chemnitz into a walk-in exhibition.

BDTSK8 Festival

Europäisches Skateboard-Festival

[22-24 August]
The BDTSK8 Festival combines skateboarding, music and urban art in a three-day event in the centre of Chemnitz. Skaters from all over Europe - from U16 to over 30 - compete against each other in street and bowl competitions. Open-air art, from graffiti to stencils, will be created at the same time.

Slam 25

Internationale deutschsprachige Meisterschaften im Poetry-Slam

[29 October - 1 November]
SLAM 25 brings the greatest poetry slam talents from seven countries to Chemnitz to present their best texts at the 29th International German-language Championship.

im:puls

Nacht der Jugendkulturen

[19-20 September]
Young people in small towns in Saxony organise their own night of culture. At im:puls, they develop their own events and bring their ideas to the stage - creatively, loudly and self-determinedly. in 2025, the project will culminate in a Europe-wide youth festival in Chemnitz.
