With AIDA Cruises, market leader for cruises in Germany, Chemnitz 2025 has gained another strong business partner as a new Gold Sponsor. The Rostock-based company is an important social player that is continuously expanding its social commitment both nationally and locally in the regions it visits worldwide. This includes the promotion of cultural projects with international appeal.
As Germany's third-largest tour operator, AIDA Cruises stands for innovation, diversity and sustainability. With 18,000 employees from 60 nations, including 1,200 jobs at its home base, AIDA is not only a global player, but also a strong economic partner in eastern Germany. The eleven ships in the AIDA fleet symbolise a relaxed, cosmopolitan and colourful attitude to life with their unmistakable kissing mouths.
Felix Eichhorn, President of AIDA Cruises, on the company's commitment: " With the commitment of AIDA Cruises as a Gold Sponsor for the European Capital of Culture Chemnitz 2025, we would like to further strengthen our ties with the region and at the same time send a strong signal for the support of regional cultural and educational initiatives at an international level. We are delighted to be able to actively promote cultural diversity, innovation and the sustainable development of the region in this way. It also reflects the values that connect AIDA and Chemnitz in the heart of Europe: Openness, diversity, community and respect. We are convinced that Chemnitz 2025 as European Capital of Culture will make a significant contribution to strengthening European cohesion. "
Sven Schulze, Lord Mayor of the City of Chemnitz: "AIDA Cruises stands for discovery - for travelling to faraway places, for cultural encounters and for marvelling at the diversity of our world. We invite everyone to experience Europe in Chemnitz in 2025. We want to make the European idea tangible in our city: a vision of openness, diversity and cohesion - with Chemnitz's very own pinch of surprise. "
The cooperation with AIDA Cruises illustrates the cross-industry approach of gaining partners from different sectors of the economy in order to gather new impetus and create valuable synergies for the Capital of Culture year. With AIDA, a leading representative of the travel and tourism industry expands the sponsor network and brings additional international attention.
"We are delighted to have found a strong partner in AIDA Cruises as a Gold Sponsor, which not only brings a new industry into the Chemnitz 2025 sponsor network, but also strengthens the link between business and culture at both regional and international level. The support of AIDA shows how broad the foundation is on which Chemnitz 2025 stands," adds Andrea Pier, Commercial Director of Chemnitz 2025 gGmbH.
