Vietnamese-East German event series

What does Vietnamese culture mean for the German majority society? Although Vietnamese people are visible in the cityscape of East Germany, the cliché that they behave quietly and inconspicuously still applies. Among other things, filmmaker Claudia Tuyết Scheffel played with these clichés in her film "Lonig & Havendel", which became the starting point for a series of events in 2025 at which film team members gave workshops in their specialist fields. Vietnamese and German people of all ages came together at workshops on culture, film, music and food. The events were held in rooms adjacent to Vietnamese snack bars - culture could take place anywhere.
