Out of Order

A queer-feminist exhibition on identity and its forms of expression

I: Ulrike Schell"

Can I be the person that I decide I want to be? And can I be this person everywhere? These are the central questions posed by this exhibition, which mirrors the different realities of people who have dug deep into their gender and social identities. Video works, oil paintings, sculptures, and other pieces question established norms, address body hatred and shame, document the search for personal boundaries, and express the sheer joy of being seen for who you are. In workshops and discussions with artists, we wil explore ideas on how we can get rid of structural fossils – and build a more loving coexistence.
