PERSPECTIVES – Film Festival for Human Rights

Cinema by young people for all generations

Since its premiere in 2023, PERSPEKTIVEN, the film festival for human rights, is well on its way to becoming an integral part of the Chemnitz film landscape. In addition to focussing on films that address topics such as environmental protection, human rights, migration and discrimination, the festival also has a special approach: it is made by young people for all generations. The annual youth film jury was not only responsible for selecting the films. It also independently organised the programme, moderated film discussions and took care of the necessary marketing on social media. There was a four-day film festival during the Capital of Culture year. In addition to guest contributions from exchange partners from the Czech Republic and Poland, workshops, follow-up discussions and a youth exchange were planned.
