The PIANO SALON series in the Capital of Culture year began with an anniversary: the Saxon Mozart Society hosted these evenings for the 30th time, where international artists presented programmes specially curated with the Mozart Society. Alexander Gadjiev kicked off the programme with works by Robert Schumann, Claude Debussy and Sergei Rachmaninov. The multi-award-winning musician comes from the Italian-Slovenian border town of Gorizia. Music as a cross-border medium was not only demonstrated in her ability to absorb different musical styles and languages, to process them and to reshape them according to her own taste. In the roles of festival director, pianist, improviser, speaker and educator, Alexander Gadjiev also organised the first edition of the cross-border festival "Prečkanja - Sconfinamenti" in his home town in the summer of 2024. He was a cultural ambassador for Nova Gorica / Gorizia, the second European Capital of Culture 2025 alongside Chemnitz.
