On 18 January 2025, Chemnitz and the Capital of Culture region kicked off with a big day of celebration: the opening of Chemnitz 2025. The city centre was full of stages, the many projects from the programme presented themselves in the Stadthalle, the Rosenhof was the venue for a culinary voyage of discovery, the Nischel was given a new look and there was simply something going on everywhere.
This project is cofinanced by tax funds on the basis of the parliamentary budget of the state of Saxony and by federal funds from the Beauftragter der Bundesregierung für Kultur und Medien (Federal Government Commissioner for Culture and Media), as well as funds from the City of Chemnitz.
