Chemnitz composer Andreas Pabst's REQUIEM CORONA, which premiered in 2022, sent a musical message of comfort, hope and reconciliation during the global coronavirus pandemic. The composition in the original Latin text combines classical choral symphonic music with influences from film music, pop and musicals. Together with the Singakademien from Gera, Cottbus and Potsdam, accompanied by the Vogtlandphilharmonie and under the musical direction of the composer himself, the Singakademie Chemnitz will once again perform the 45-minute piece. The REQUIEM CORONA will be preceded by the "Chichester Psalms" by the American composer Leonard Bernstein (*1918-†1990) from 1965.
