Art in the region

PURPLE PATH art and sculpture trail

Everything comes from the mountain

Whether Tony Cragg in Aue-Bad Schlema, Alice Aycock in Seiffen or Friedrich Kunath in Thalheim: they are all part of the PURPLE PATH art and sculpture trail, which connects Chemnitz and the Capital of Culture region with works by international and national artists. The result is a decentralised exhibition in public space that tells the story of people, crafts and industry and invites visitors to discover these stories.

MADE IN - Platform for Contemporary Crafts & Design

Exhibition of innovative design and craft ideas

[until 9 November]

Can dyes for textiles be developed from algae? Can lampshades be made from rushes? These are the kinds of questions that occupy the minds of the people brought together by the MADE IN platform. It combines cultural heritage, design studio, research laboratory and workshop with the aim of making a sustainable circular economy the norm in society. The exhibition at the Siebenschlehener Pochwerk shows the results of this transnational collaboration, which has been ongoing since 2023 in Slovenia, Croatia, Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Portugal and Germany – and has been continuously developing ever since.
