The Richard Hartmann History Tour

On the trail of the railway pioneer of Saxony: a guided bus tour

The bus tour focussed on the life and work of Richard Hartmann.
The tour began at the Hartmann factory and led across the Kaßberg to the central stations of his work and his grave monument. In Euba, a stop at the former dam of the German Reichsbahn railway invited the group to take a lunch break. The tour concluded with a visit to the Saxon Railway Museum and a guided tour.

The tour illustrated the great industrial history of Chemnitz using Hartmann as an example and emphasised the importance of the city as an industrial location in the past, present and future.
