The European Festival for Creativity, Technology and Innovation invites you to the Chemnitz Stadthalle and Stadthallenpark for the third time: with over 60 exhibitors, "makers united" will open its doors on 1 and 2 July 2023 to fascinate visitors with innovative technology, old craftsmanship, technical tinkering and creative forms of design and inspire them to join in and try things out.

Programming robots yourself, transforming red-hot iron into creative souvenirs, utilising renewable energies or simply producing giant soap bubbles: in addition to offerings from Chemnitz and the cultural region, exhibitors from Great Britain, Slovenia, the Czech Republic, Austria and Finland invite you to explore.

This year, makers united will once again be preceded by "beam! - be a maker" will precede it again this year. On 29 and 30 June, registered school classes can try out a large part of the festival's hands-on activities exclusively in advance - and pick up a tip or two for their professional orientation. Twelve primary and secondary schools and grammar schools from Chemnitz and the region have registered for "beam!" this year, setting a new record for participation: over 850 pupils will conquer the Stadthalle and Stadthallenpark over the two days of the event.

As part of "beam!", the kick-off for the "Industry meets Makers" challenge will also take place on 30 June at 12 noon: In the coming months, makers from the maker and creative scene will work on challenges faced by industrial companies. "Industry meets makers" is part of the Makers, Business & Arts programme on the way to the Capital of Culture Chemnitz 2025 and is being organised by Kreative Sachsen together with Industrieverein Sachsen and Kreatives Chemnitz.

The "makers united" festival is one of the projects for the European Capital of Culture Chemnitz 2025 programme and Kulturhauptstadt GmbH is supporting the festival's development process.
