In preparation for the European Capital of Culture year, buildings were renovated and prepared for a new use and areas were remodelled and redesigned throughout the city. The bid book, which was used to win the title of "European Capital of Culture 2025" in 2020, sets out the strategy and the major themes.
Chemnitz may not have a hop-on hop-off bus, but it does have CVAG! After a short tour of the Hartmannfabrik visitor centre, the "Chemnitz 2025 Tour FLUSS" takes you to Altendorf and Rottluff on bus route 32, with information on the Pleißenbachpark and Schmidt-Rottluff-Ensemble intervention areas along the way.
