As European Capital of Culture 2025, Chemnitz can look back on a year of intensive European exchange. The impetus provided for cultural networking, European cooperation and urban development is to be continued beyond the Capital of Culture year.

At the centre of the event will be a panel discussion on the question of what EU membership or accession means for the respective countries - politically, economically and socially - and at the same time what concrete effects European enlargement has on our cities. As European guests, we look forward to welcoming representatives from the future European Capitals of Culture Liepaja (2027, Latvia) and Nikšić (2030, Montenegro).

The subsequent reception will provide space for dialogue, networking and new European collaborations.
