In the midst of condensed summer spaces, soft ice cream floats as a fleeting sculpture between the industrialisation of sweetness and the collective memory of carefree childhood places. The enjoyment of soft ice cream is understood as more than just consumption: It is a performative act, a communal licking, an observation of decay.
To be honest, the FUNKEN Nights team admits that sometimes it's too hot for aesthetic and technological discourse. Today is heat-free - the soft ice cream machine is fired up and the outdoor area of the FUNKEN Space is inaugurated. This creates a place where you can linger, chat and get to know all the people who are out and about here on the technology campus in a relaxed atmosphere.
If you fancy a bit of input, there is a small cinema inside. The FUNKEN Kolleg documentary is shown there. The videos provide a deeper insight into the processes of the collaborations from business, science and art that took place in spring and produced exciting works of art.
