Chemnitz, the Waldorf School’s pottery workshop

entrance free of charge

In this two-part workshop, participants will create their own sprout bowl from clay. The workshop will explain why clay is an ideal material for growing sprouts. It will also provide an opportunity to discuss nutritious and climate-friendly diets, as well as the importance of Demeter farming in this context.

A few days after the workshop, the pots will be fired. They can be collected on 27 June 2026 from the Waldorf School’s stand at MAKERS UNITED in the Stadthalle, or from the Waldorf School from the following week onwards. A starter pack of sprouts will then enable participants to get straight started with growing their own sprouts at home.

The workshop combines the art of modelling with the art of nutrition and creates space for creative expression. As the first workshop in this new series, the format also has an experimental character: together, participants will try out ideas, gain experience and enjoy the creative process.

The workshop takes place over two days:

  • 19 June 2026 from 3 pm to 6 pm (clay modelling)
  • 20 June 2026 from 10 am to 1 pm (refining the moulded bowls)
