What does a young queer person do in the Ore Mountains? They go swimming. As artist in residence at the Begehungen art festival, Stefan Hornbach set out in 2022 to explore queer life in Thalheim and, in 2024, as a literature fellow of the city of Chemnitz, he unearthed the remains of ‘Glamnitz,’ the sunken glittering metropolis between Chem and Nitz. On the occasion of the Capital of Culture year, Stefan Hornbach now returns to Chemnitz to present his findings at a reading in a tram. It's about secret and uncanny desires, unfree cruising culture and useless dating apps, naked neighbours with giant lawnmowers and a concerned mayor who wonders how the locals will feel about it all.

On 12 September, the historic tram will take you on a queer journey through the city! As soon as the tram starts moving, Stefan Hornbach will read from his texts. The starting and ending point is the Garagen-Campus.
