The HEART CHOR from Annaberg-Buchholz and Septem Cantet from Klášterec nad Ohří will take you on a journey through the history of songs against oppression, because they are international. Songs from labour and social movements are just as much a part of it as gospel and folk songs. The choirs research songs of resistance, discover the song and cultural heritage of European border regions and reflect together on historical contexts.

The historical power of songs to shape the rules that apply to us today can be discovered in the unique setting of the Industrial Museum. Rousing melodies performed by 28 singers from the Erzgebirge/Krušnohoří mining region carry democratic ideas across borders.

The project is funded by the German-Czech Future Fund and is a project within the framework of the European Capital of Culture Chemnitz 2025. This measure is co-financed by tax funds on the basis of the budget adopted by the Saxon State Parliament and by federal funds from the Federal Government Commissioner for Culture and the Media as well as funds from the City of Chemnitz.
