Author Stefan Tschök is visiting all 38 cities and municipalities along the PURPLE PATH in 2025. There, he will not only present his book "Was? Chemnitz?!"(Paperento Verlag), a tongue-in-cheek instruction manual for the Capital of Culture, but will also engage in dialogue with the residents: What do the local residents actually gain from the Capital of Culture title? What do they get out of it - and how can they get involved?
These questions are at the centre of the panel discussion, in which guests from the town always provide answers - and the audience is also invited to take part. In addition to Tschök, Franziska Bäsler, Head of the Zeitwerkstatt, and Uta Berthold, Head of the JugendKunstSchule, will be speaking at the ZeitWerkStadt adventure museum in Frankenberg/Sa . Head of the JugendKunstSchule Frankenberg, will provide information. The works of art at the PURPLE PATH will also be discussed.
Niederwiesa, Frankenberg and Hainichen lie like a string of pearls along the C15 city railway line. For the Open Monument Day on 14 September 2025 , this very train route will be part of an unusual event format based around the theme of the Capital of Culture. This is because all three locations are closely linked by their industrial and cultural past - in terms of textiles, for example - and have therefore created the "texTour" network. Author Stefan Tschök from Chemnitz will be travelling through the municipalities for a day on the City-Bahn. And in all three municipalities, he will pose the question in a panel discussion: Chemnitz is the Capital of Culture - but what do we actually get out of it?
