Chemnitz 2025 gGmbH

After winning the title, the newly founded European Capital of Culture Chemnitz 2025 gGmbH (Chemnitz 2025 gGmbH), a wholly owned subsidiary of the City of Chemnitz, was commissioned to develop the programme for the European Capital of Culture in Chemnitz and the surrounding Capital of Culture region.

Under the motto C the Unseen, Chemnitz 2025 gGmbH focuses on activities in socioculture, art, corporate culture, building culture, food and nutrition culture, the environment, sustainability, activities for children, young people and senior citizens, as well as numerous other areas of society and culture. To this end, it brings together regional, national and international partners. The project company also aims to create sustainable structures and communication spaces for citizen participation that will send positive impulses far beyond the project year 2025.

The programme and production department, management, communications, marketing, human resources, administration and numerous project groups are structurally anchored in Chemnitz 2025 gGmbH and work closely together to implement the activities from the Bid Book II.
