Artist talk on the exhibition: One Million, Items 3501 and 3502 + The new One Million Porcelain Miracle
With Uli Aigner

Many decades ago, Lößnitz was home to the smallest porcelain service in the world. It was created in Meissen between 1911 and 1913 and comprised 142 pieces, each as small as a fingernail. From 1929, the miniature porcelain was exhibited to the public in the Lößnitz railway castle. During the GDR era, the porcelain was smuggled to West Germany and exhibited in a museum in Remshalden. It was later taken over by a Bavarian antiques dealer from whom it was stolen. It has been missing ever since.

The artist Uli Aigner, who represents the PURPLE PATH in Lößnitz with her monumental porcelain objects One Million, Items 3501 + 3502, has taken up this story. She is creating a modern adaptation of the smallest porcelain service, including furniture, in collaboration with the town, the Lößnitz MAKERS, the exhibitors of the Purple Path en miniature and the local heritage association. Supporters in the form of sponsors are still being sought for the production of all 142 pieces. If you would like to support the One Million Porcelain Miracle by becoming a sponsor, please contact the Lößnitz Makers.

On 22 August, the artist will explain her work on and with the smallest and largest porcelains in the world.

The event is part of the programme of the tour Unterwegs mit der Künstlerin Uli Aigner. The talk can be attended independently of the tour.
