First results from the workshop of 27 October 2018:

The aim of civic involvement in the city has long been to preserve the birthplace of the famous Chemnitz Expressionist and to use it for cultural purposes. Therefore, the members of the Karl Schmidt-Rottluff Association have intensively discussed with interested parties and presented beautiful ideas. A red ribbon, for example, would be conceivable that would connect all Karl Schmidt-Rottluff places in the city. Line 23, which leads to the birthplace, could be designed as a KSR line. And the area with the mill, residential house and garden could accommodate studios, make residences possible or become a good address for a summer school – all this gladly in close cooperation with the Berlin Brücke Museum. It is also important to make Karl Schmidt-Rottluff’s inspiration tangible throughout the entire district.
