<Chemnitz would like to become the European Capital of Culture 2025 – with a Chemnitz2025 open air exhibition, culture should also be made possible in times like these

We are currently experiencing a lot of creativity for digital cultural offerings. And yet it would be nice to turn your gaze away from your monitor and experience art offline as well. We therefore want to create a open air exhibition Chemnitz2025, which can be experienced in walks through the city at the end of May: on 50 Citylight posters.

We are looking for pictures, graphics, photos, posters, comics or illustrations that we can print as posters and thus make them tangible in the city. The website of the project also shows all works at a glance, introduces the respective artists and links a direct contact so that interested parties can also become art buyers. The link to the website is displayed on all posters via QR code.

In this way, we want to invite the people of Chemnitz to discover the artistic diversity that is at home in our city in their everyday walks or springtime strolls. At the same time we want to create a public exhibition of the creative people of Chemnitz with up to 50 different posters.

<Works of every genre can be submitted – everything that the archives of the Chemnitz artists have to offer: Graphics or painting, production poster or concert photo, fashion sketch or caricature…

<A jury will select the three most exciting works from all entries and award 1500 Euros for the first, 1000 Euros for the second and 500 Euros for the third prize. All other entrants (up to 50) whose works are selected by the jury for the open air exhibition will receive 100 euros.

By means of online voting, an audience award of 1500 Euro will also be presented.

Dimensions and resolution of the submitted reproductions/files:

The repros should have a resolution of 300dpi and can be saved as RGB-JPG (this makes the file smaller).
