Chemnitz 2025 bundles creative Christmas activities to get involved in

As part of the Capital of Culture project Makers, Business & Arts, a brochure with Christmas activities has been published for the first time.

The comprehensive booklet contains around 100 creative offers from 61 providers from Chemnitz and the cultural region. Divided into 12 categories, everything from woodturning and lace-making to floristry, basket weaving and 3D printing is included. On 29 November and 3 December, there will be a Christmas-themed event in the offices of Chemnitz 2025 GmbH in the centre of Chemnitz and at the Makerhub Lehngericht in Augustusburg, where some of the offers can be tried out. The Maker Advent is made possible by a cooperation with SACHSENLOTTO. The company is thus the first project partner for Chemnitz 2025.

Chemnitz and its cultural region are at the centre of activities during the Capital of Culture year. The Maker Advent brochure shows the impressive variety of creative workshops, studios and actors, and for the first time make them visible and accessible in the region and beyond.

A key aim for the Makers, Business & Arts team, one of the five main Projects in the Chemnitz 2025 programme, is to promote creative tourism. The potential of this economic sector is to be and become an important resource for sustainable and future-proof year-round tourism which is exemplary throughout Europe.

The Maker Advent activities are an initial invitation to both people from the region and guests from outside to participate creatively, discover unknown places, learn new skills, meet people and create something together. From 27 November to 23 December, there will be at least one activity every day in the run-up to Christmas.

Sachsenlotto supports the Maker Advent as a partner of the Capital of Culture project Makers, Business & Arts

For the Sächsische Lotto-GmbH, Chemnitz 2025 is an important topic that affects the whole of Saxony. Thanks to the Lotto principle, the budget of the Free State is up to 40 per cent of the company’s stakes. This money is used for the public good.

Marketing co-operations illustrate the Lotto principle, such as the partnership with Maker Advent.
