The artist
<Henrike Schmitz was born in 1989 in Osnabrück and lived in England, France and Sweden and now in Chemnitz. After studying textile and surface design at the Weißensee School of Art in Berlin and the Swedish Textile School in Borås, among others, the trained men's tailor is currently working in her studio on the Sonnenberg. The focus of her work is on the interweaving of man and machine and the textile industrial potential of Chemnitz and its surroundings.
