Lydia Thomas was born in 1987 in Karl-Marx-Stadt. After her training at the Fortis Academy in Chemnitz, she began studying free painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich in 2009. During her studies, Lydia Thomas received a six-month Erasmus scholarship at the Academy of Arts in Lisbon. In 2013 she received a studio scholarship from the city of Chemnitz in the twin city of Tampere in Finland. One year later she was a master student of Prof. Anke Doberauer. In 2015 Lydia Thomas received her diploma of free painting.
