Yaroslav Kurbanov was born in 1968 in Makhachkala in Russia. He studied at the technical art school in Makhachkala from 1983 to 1987 and received his diploma as an artist and designer. From 1990 to 1996 Yaroslav Kurbanov graduated as a stage painter from the State Academic School of Art Painting “Repin” in Saint Petersburg. In 1996 he also received a scholarship at the newspaper “Die Welt”. Since 2000 Yaroslav Kurbanov has been living in Chemnitz and in 2016 he won first place at the art award “Vielfalt” in Eggenstein.
