Volunteers arethe ambassadors of Chemnitz 2025, supporting the preparations and actively shaping the Capital of Culture year with their voluntary work. Help was needed in many different areas: at events, in organisational matters, at information stands, in looking after guests or in logistics.

Even after the end of the European Capital of Culture year, the volunteer programme will continue and volunteers will support projects in Chemnitz and the surrounding region, such as the theatre festival ‘Theatre of the World’.

Working in the volunteer team is a unique opportunity to take a look behind the scenes of the European Capital of Culture and welcome people from all over Europe!
